Images photography contest 2009


From January 2009, as part of Images, the Festival of Visual Arts in Vevey, Switzerland, the Foundation Vevey: Ville d’Images is inviting entries for the 5th European First Film Awards and the 7th International Vevey Photo Awards. With complete freedom of choice as regards subject matter and genre, these bi-annual competitions provide precious support to contemporary creators.

prizes worth up to 30,000 CHF (approximately 20,000 Euros).

Over the years, through the festival Images and its two Award competitions, Vevey has become closely associated with contemporary artistic creation and visual communication.

Juries composed of Swiss and international experts in the fields of film and photography will meet in May and June 2009 to examine the projects submitted and select those which are considered to be outstanding in terms of quality or originality. The projects that receive awards will be completed and shown at the next edition of the festival Images in September 2010.

Copyright - The prize-winner of the project will remain the sole copyright owner.

Registration fee

The participants are required to pay the registration fee as follow:

20.- CHF or € 15.- (not requiring return of the project)
35.- CHF or € 25.- (requiring return of the project)
The projects not return will be destroyed
The checks are allowed with an increase of € 5 for the bank costs

The “Leica Oskar Barnack Award” competition is open to all professional photographers. To take part, participants must send in a series of photographs taken in 2008 or long-term projects containing at least one photo from 2008.

In order to enter a photograph in the Contest, you must complete the WeSay.com Best of Citizen Journalism Photo Contest Official Entry Form. You will be allowed to upload five digital photographs in JPEG format at a resolution no larger than 640 by 480 pixels. You also will be required to enter your name and e-mail address, indicate the title of the photograph, provide a brief description of the photograph and the context in which it was taken, and indicate the category in which you wish to enter the photograph. Annabel Williams Contemporary Photographic Training (CPT) is pleased to announce the launch of The Annabel Williams Photographic Awards 2009 to celebrate and reward photographic excellence in the world of wedding and portrait photography.
The bi-annual Annabel Williams Photographic Awards are designed to honour the UK's leading photographers, recognising inspiration, skill and true creativity. In accordance with the photographic philosophy that has earned Annabel Williams such respect within the industry, the Awards celebrate the infinite possibilities that contemporary photography unfolds.

Who can enter? - Everyone
Entry fee - £5.00 (entitles the entrant to submit into every category with a maximum of one image/album)
1st prize - Canon EOS 5D mark 2 and 18-200mm lens

iPhone photo contest


Simply select the number of images you'd like submit, pay the fees and email your work from your iPhone or from your computer to IPPA. You can submit as many photographs in as many categories as you want.


Prize
All photographers compete for the top award, the IPPA Photographer of the Year. The work of the top winner and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place Winners on each category will be publicized on IPPA online gallery and published in the IPPA Annual Book.

Certificates in all Categories - All 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners from each categories will receive a IPPA certificate.

Honorable Mentions - IPPA judges will award several Certificates of Honorable Mention to entries to acknowledge talent as they deem fit.


Judging Criteria
Members of the Jury will review all entries and judge images on the basis of artistic merit, originality, subject, and style and ultimately decide the winners.


Return of the Entries
Entries will not be returned. Only winning entries will be kept on file for promotional purposes. IPPA will not be responsible for any damaged or lost submissions.


Use of images
Copyright and all other rights remain that of the photographer. Any photograph used by IPPA shall carry the photographer's credit line. Use may include publication in any IPPA media sponsor publication. All entrants understand that any image submitted to the competition may be used by IPPA for marketing and promotional purposes including in any media such as exhibitions, print and digital media directly related to the IPPA competition.


Winner Notification
All winners will be announced online six to eight weeks after the final submission deadline. The work of all 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be published in the IPPA Annual Book eight to ten months after the announcement.

EuroNatur - Nature Photography Competition




Participation is free; there are attractive prizes to be won. By participating, you will contribute with your pictures to the wildlife protection activities of EuroNatur.

1st prize: 7 adventurous days for 2 persons in the Cantabrian Mountains innorthern Spain

OLYMPUS PHOTO CONTEST





Students we want your photos! Submit your best work for the second annual Photographers of Tomorrow contest. Identify the innovation or technology that has had the greatest impact on your life and capture its beauty. Be creative!

One student will win the grand prize: a $5,000 scholarship, an Olympus E-3, the Zuiko 12-60mm and 50-200mm digital lenses, and accessories. The winning image will be chosen by a panel of award-winning photographers, comprised of Olympus Visionaries. The winning student's professor will also win the Olympus equipment.

Public voting has been added this year! Starting March 31, 2009, the top 20 finalist images will be posted for judging by your peers. The popular vote winner will receive an Olympus E-520 kit.

Online submissions will be accepted through February 28, 2009
. Winners will be announced in May 2009. To qualify, images must be taken by an Olympus E-System camera.
